How did we find out about this policy coverage from State Farm Insurance?
The home insurance policy update sure isn't told to you when you purchase the home policy from State Farm. In fact, it's buried within all the small writing inside your policy details. Most agents aren't even aware of the coverage update as of the writing of this article, January 2026. We only found out about it because one of our clients just so happened to read their entire home insurance policy details. She used the coverage, then told her relative about it and they both got their heat treatments covered by their updated policy's both equaling $1000 each. Thats two separate bed bug heat treatments we've already done for clients that State Farm covered.
Do we bill State Farm for you?
No, we do not bill State Farm for you. You will have to send the invoice or quote we send you to State Farm yourself in order to qualify for the reimbursement from your State Farm agency. In other words you still have to pay for the bed bug services, but you'll be reimbursed up to $1000, after turning in your quote or invoice. Theoretically a home owner could wait for the $1000 reimbursement before actually getting the treatment from us, but I'm not exactly sure how long it takes for State Farm to send it to you, just yet. This article is just a way for us to quickly get this new State Farm home insurance coverage information out to our clients.
Do any other home insurance companies cover bed bugs?
Honestly, we do not know. To date, State Farm is the only home insurance company we know of covering up to $1000 for bed bugs. Who knows though, maybe there are other insurance companies with an alike policy buried within their fine print that have yet to be discovered. You'll never know till you read your policy coverage information packet.
