Using a clothes washer to try to (even with hot water) can back fire. With washers the water splashes and that in turn could splash bed bugs out of harm's way. They could also just crawl out of harms way before the water reaches them in the washer. You'd be surprised what bed bugs can survive through.

Where you choose to keep the prepped trash bags during the treatment is your choice, as long as it's not inside the residence being serviced. Some clients keep the prepped bags in sheds, garages, under covered parking, porches, etc. Some customers even stack the bags in the yard under a tarp or in tents.

Pro Tip: When leaving trash bags in a yard or tent it's best to make sure they are up off the ground incase of heavy rains with flash flooding.

It is best to wait till after your treatment is completed to start laundering fabrics. Some clients do fabrics on the day of the treatment at a laundromat. Take the sealed trash bags to the laundry one by one as you dry each bag and place entire bag in the dryer before opening bag and removing items. Dry all items on high heat for at least 1 hour. DO NOT WASH FIRST! DRY 1ST, WASH SECOND (if needed) , THEN DRY AGAIN. After cloth items have been heated for the full hour you may wash and redry. Use both washer and dryer on high heat. Please throw away all used trash bags in outside trash, as they could be infested. Do not reuse trash bags or boxes used during a bed bug treatment.
